For me it's not the typefaces yet... but the damn blue maps are killing me. I need higher contrast than that.
ReplyDeleteI hear you, my friend. I'm contemplating getting reading glasses, myself. Damn middle-age.
ReplyDeleteWe produced a few 'Tolkienesque'items at ICE back in the day.
ReplyDeleteI've a ton of original MERP, though its lack of continuity with the source material upsets the game's authenticity.
I've worn glasses since I was 14, but the shift to bifocals took about 3 weeks to get used to. But I had to when I picked up a paperback and couldn't read it, even at arm's length. Check out Zenni.com once you have a prescription. My bifocals cost $65, instead of my first pair that cost almost $500.
ReplyDeleteMERP was one the games I've always wanted to play, but never did. I *love* Middle Earth.
Alas... I had to succumb to bifocal lens just last year; similar results as Brett. Suppossedly didn't get the placement of the "reading zones" right on the first go around. Still not 100%, but do help quite a bit. If you need them, I suggest that you get them.
ReplyDeletePast the bifocal stage ten years back. Unfortunately it seems to be one the first signs your getting old to kick-in. In the new seamless ones its not even obvious your wearing bi-focals. Of course you could get a cool monocle like those scary Europeans are always wearing but they are a bit out of fashion for every day.
