Swords & Wizardry Appreciation Day "Loot List"
A (I'm sure incomplete) listing of the gift basket for the Swords & Wizardry is as follows:
Frog God Games will be giving away a PDF copy of Razor Coast and the choice of Monstrosities or Rappan Athuk in PDF to the blog post deemed "the best of the blogfest by Matt, Chris and myself. Two other blogs will receive PDF copies of either Monstrosities or Rappan Athuk. Plus we have gifted out some special offers to 4 participating bloggers to give away to the readers. It is like a scavenger hunt so be sure to check out all the postings!
Spes Magna Games is giving away a $10 RPGNow gift certificate to a random participating blog.
+Tim Shorts of Gothridge Manor will be giving away 5 copies of his zine, The Manor. You'll need to hit his blog on the 17th for details.
Erik (that's me) is throwing in 1 $10 gift certificate and 3 $5 gift certificates to random participating blogs. As we have surpassed 100 participating blogs, I'll also be throwing in 2 $5 gift certificates to random commenters on the S&W Appreciation Day blogpost that goes up on this blog on the 17th (if you want a chance to win those random $5 gift certificates, you need to add a comment to this very post). If the winning commenters are also members of the 2,000 Coppers G+ Community, he'll double the gift to a value of $10.
Add in the Purple Sorcerer stuff, and it's an amazing "gift basket". +Jon Marr , also known as the main man behind Purple Sorcerer Games, is putting 5 PDF copies of The Ooze Pits of Jonas Gralk and 5 PDF copies of Perils of the Sunken City into the gift pool. While written for the DCC RPG, Jon will be posting an article on how to use DCC adventures and resources in your Swords & Wizardry game. (you want a chance to win one of these? add a comment to this post)
+James Carpio , the editor of Gygax Magazine and the main force behind the upcoming Tales From the Fallen Empire setting for the DCC RPG will be offering a $10 RPGNow gift certificate to a random commenter at his Hexgeneration Blog during the Swords & Wizardry Appreciation Day Blogfest on April 17.
Matt Jackson over at Cubby Monster Games is giving away copies of volumes 1 through 3 of his Moleskin Map collection in PDF to all the bloggers participating that we have contact info for.

Vargold rifles through the corpse's pockets. What does he find?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to get my hands on that booty!
ReplyDeleteVlark tries to pick the lock on the treasure chest . . .
ReplyDeleteme want lootz
ReplyDeleteYou keep talking about the booty and it keeps getting bigger and bigger!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to hold out hope for a PDF copy of Rappan Athuk - that's one I'd love to review some day.
Did someone say "Booty"? Sow the wind, reap the loot.
ReplyDeleteI'll be giving out Print copies of the zine I make based on my S&W post, AND two copies of Knockspell on PDF. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteThis is really very cool. Thanks for organizing this shin-dig. At least I'm not going to be the only one losing a few hours reading all the great stuff getting posted...
ReplyDeleteNice "Loot List" !
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to put this together. Let the games begin!

ReplyDeleteI am here just for the loot :)
ReplyDeletebut don't forget to look at my blog entry ;-)
http://d20d12.blogspot.it/2013/04/swords-wizardry-short-review-and-new.html
Today will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of yada yada yada.
ReplyDeleteI am also here for the loot, but I bring an offering in return:
ReplyDeleteHow to use DCC RPG's character "funneling system" with Swords & Wizardry.
I could really use some loot. The party's Dwarven Fighter spent all of ours on ale and, well, you know.
ReplyDeleteAwesome loot list! The day has been fun so far!
ReplyDeleteSo far today, the response has been pretty overwhelming - I'm sure I've missed things so far and am planning on going back over everything later (your update posts will definitely help with that!). Thanks so much for putting all this time into it!
ReplyDeleteOh fun!
ReplyDeleteGuess I'm caught in a good dilemma, spend the rest of the night reading through the awesome posts here or use the infectious energy to try my hand at writing something up beyond a reflection post. I'll see if I can finish something more concrete in the next few hours.
ReplyDeleteI want to add in PDF copies of d20pfsrd.com presents: Open Gaming Monthly to up to 5 bloggers who created new stuff for S&W and who include OGLs declaring the content open so I can add it to the S&W SRD.
ReplyDeleteemail me tomorrow and remind me of this and i'll make a post for it - doubt i'll remember otherwise ;)
DeleteThese are some good goodies! We wants 'em, precious...
ReplyDeleteLoot?! Where?! I loot the bodies!!!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was...a little hectic, but I made it just under the wire! Loot!!
ReplyDeleteIt'll take me forever to read through all the other posts, but what a day! And there's still loot to be had. Arrrrg!
ReplyDeleteSign me up!
ReplyDeleteWhile everyone is crawling, crooning and quarrelling over the treasure, I'm going to leisurely walk past them and lead the gorgeous lady out of there.
ReplyDeleteFree Stuff! Cool!
ReplyDeleteCount me in, if you would. S&W A.D. was a blast, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteI just have to comment here to be in with a chance of loot, eh? I'm in!!
ReplyDeleteHaving said that I have a hard drive full of loot that I downloaded from various sites as a result of SWAD - so well done to all involved!!
Cool swag.
ReplyDeleteBooty is always nice :D
ReplyDeleteHis callused finger tips slid slowly over the dry stone wall, feeling for anything out of the ordinary. They moved in a pattern, left and right, painstakingly up and down. The dust of the stone work covered his hands. He had been doing this for close to an hour. The dim light of his flickering torch starting to gutter and fade as it lay on the floor at his side. Just as his torch died, he felt it. It was the slightest depression, but it was there and it didn't match the surrounding stonework. Perhaps he should have been searching in the darkness all along, not allowing his vision to impede the years of training his fingers had searching for hidden treasures in the deeps below Mount Kendril. But then he heard it, a faint sniffing sound, coming from the hall outside the room he now searched. It could only mean one thing. He was no longer alone. He had found the secret lever, but without a light, those evil beasts had grown more bold, seeking out with their hands, that which their eyes couldn't see. He realized now, that perhaps he was the treasure in the tomb, not the seeker. Perhaps the torch going out had allowed both he and his pursuer to finally locate what they sought. So, how would it go down? Would he trip the switch and learn what lay behind the hidden panel, risking it all, or would he crouch, move along the wall and try to skirt the grasping hands of his undead pursuer? The time ticked away. The sniffing sound grew louder. He could feel the sweat on his brow as his finger traced the edges of the lever in the darkness, over and over. He had faced difficult decisions before, but this was so much more. Now he could smell it, that's how close it was, shuffling this way and that, much like his hands had moved over the wall. He caught himself mesmerized by the thought of his hands as a metaphor for this undead monstrosity and realized something was assaulting his mind. What was this thing? He couldn't even be sure, but it was getting closer. Just as he prepared to flee, he subconsciously triggered the lever. It popped open with a THWICK! Instinctively he rolled just as a silent rending claw ripped into the stone with the strength only the dead could muster. Now, he was in trouble.....
ReplyDeleteLoots?
ReplyDeleteI Love Loots!
And so does my S&W Bishop class, who can identify the magical loot.
http://rpgcharacters.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/swords-wizardry-bishops/
I search the bodies. Do I find anything of interest?
ReplyDeleteFoes slain...time to take their stuff!
ReplyDeleteLoot would be great, but it was fun just taking part.
