I think the most important implication of this news is the evident change in Wizards' policy regarding third-party publishers. They're obviously much more 3PP-friendly than they were in the 4E era.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, during 4e, Gale Force 9 sold D&D products like maps of Dark Sun and so forth.
DeleteBut isn't this probably less a case of Wizard's policy toward third-party publishers and more a case of whatever contract they had with the artist to allow him to resell his artwork after it appeared on the WotC site?

ReplyDeleteI was waiting for these to become available. I have his Dreamlands map, which is gorgeous. These are some of the best-looking D&D maps in years. Preordered.
