Soft Announcement - Sometime in Late March, The Tavern Will begin Hosting Monthly Introductory OSR Sessions

Its a soft announcement because I don't have a set date for the first session yet, but starting sometime in the last half of March I plan to start running a more or less monthly session of Swords & Wizardry Light aimed at players new to the OSR and lapsed gamers. All will be welcome, so don't let experience with the OSR turn you away.

The topic arose on The Tavern's Discord sever and it simply makes sense - there should be an avenue for players new to the OSR to get their feet wet.

Plan is to use Discord for voice. Roll20 will probably be used for the Virtual Table Top - or perhaps no VTT. We MAY record the voice from the Discord channel and post it as a podcast for others to listen to. Haven't decided yet.

If you are interested in joining us, I suggest joining the Swords & Wizardry Legion on Facebook and request your free Swords & Wizardry Folder, which will include a print copy of the Swords & Wizardry Light rules (among other goodies)

First session will probably be in the evening (NYC time) but I'm open for afternoons / mornings if there is enough interest.

Coming Soon - Swords & Wizardry Continual Light - PDF and POD

I'm hoping to upload the files for Swords & Wizardry Continual Light to RPGNow and CreateSpace sometime tomorrow. If all goes well, it should be ready for download this weekend.

Pricing will be PWYW at RPGNow, both for the PDF and for the Print copy once it goes live (POD will have to wait on proof approval, so it may take a few weeks before its available). There will be a color cover version and a greyscale cover version to accommodate those that wish to print at come. Createspace will be POD and probably priced at a buck above cost.

Swords & Wizardry Continual Light is 17 pages of rules covering the four core races, four core classes (and eight optional classes), seven levels of play (with optional rules for 7+), magic items, monsters and all the goodness that you need to play - except for a handful of six-sided dice and a twenty-sided die.

While I still hope to release the Swords & Wizardry Continual Light rules soon in PDF, the above is a behind the scenes peek as to why there is a delay. I don't think I could ever hope to have the backing of a better publisher than Frog God Games. Bill, Matt and crew are awesome :)

Ok, we have about a dozen international Legion members, and more are showing up everyday. We'd love to send you a packet, but the overseas shipping prices are cost prohibitive ($20 in most cases). However, we have had a generous benefactor (Tenkar) offer to pay back $5 to any international member willing to pay for shipping....! So here's the deal: 

If you are overseas, or in Canada, and want a pack, just pay the amount for shipping via paypal (If interested, let me know via email, I'll send a reply with postage due amount);
I'll stuff an envelope full of goodies (more than our regular packs), up to 2lbs, and mail it out first class international; 

You'll get $5 back via paypal after I mail the package. 

We'd love to be able to send everyone a packet, but this stuff is being sent/given away for free, and we have to be responsible when it comes to our budget. Brandon Goeringer, The SavageGM got his hands on a S&W Legion folder that were being handed out at Gary Con and he does an excellent review of said package.

I must say, my signature sucks. I gotta work on that ;)

Gary Con Prep - Pocket Creatures Volumes 1 & 2 Are Printing - Swords & Wizardry Light

It doesn't look like I'll have a final beta of the Swords & Wizardry Continual Light rules ready for Gary Con. I MAY bring a handful of pre-edit copies. These are like Alphas. If I do bring, they will be to show and use during pick up games.

I WILL, however, be bringing printed copies of Pocket Creatures Volumes 1 & 2. Probably 50 copies of each.

You'll need to look for +Michael Badolato or myself, as they will be included in the first Swords & Wizardry Legion packs we will be handing out.
