Pinch Those Pennies - It's 18 Bucks for a Signed Pic With Ken Whitman - Will Work (heh) for Food
I'm not sure what else I can say that isn't obvious from the screenshot above.
I mean, we all know Ken needs a cash infusion to ACTUALLY COMPLETE HIS FUCKING OBLIGATIONS. But no, that isnt what this is going to pay for.
Please, I beg someone to record this shit - audio only is fine - and we'll make Ken the Youtube star he deserves to be.
Yes, you too can be an extra on The Walking Dead. For just $499 Ken will tell you all of his secrets. Sure, I made that part up, but you know his advice will be short on advice and long on "pay me and I'll help you. I know a guy who knows a guy."
Of course it won't be the last time Ken finds a way to remove cash from the gaming public without giving value back in return.
Thanks to yet another Taverner for the info :)

$18? What an odd figure. I got Wil Wheaton's autograph on my copy of Mutant Future for $15, and got a couple of free photos with him to boot.
ReplyDelete"This won't be the last time we do this." What, you mean let Kenny panhandle?
$18.00 is a standard donation amount to give to Jewish humanitarian organizations because the numberology of "life," or "chai," in Hebrew is 18. I cannot speak to Ken's reason for chosing this number, though.
DeleteHow much does he need to go away forever?
ReplyDeleteI'll give you advice on being a background actor: sign up with a casting service that deals with background (most of them). Pay them a little bit of money. You don't have to have any experience, you can have a criminal record miles long, and as long as you update your headshot with them every year or so, you'll find work.
ReplyDeleteIf you're in an area with lots of filming -- L.A., Atlanta, Vancouver -- you can probably make a regular thing of it. If you don't live in those areas, expect to work once or twice every decade or so.
There, I just saved you from having to listen to Ken speak ;-)
(Source: I'm married to someone who did background for 7ish years, and we are close friends with well over a dozen people who do background acting regularly. Also, we live in Hollywood.)
I have been on WD 3 times as a recurring character. So, ta da
DeleteI'm gonna start using "fir".
ReplyDeleteHe's doing a Q&A? Well, he's just asking for trouble, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteI'd advice anyone who wants a pic of Kenny to get the pic before you hand over your money.
ReplyDeleteWe know his record on delivering already-paid-for merchandise.
WHY!!! WHY!!! would anyone pay $18 for an autographed image of a background character with no lines. This is beyond nuts. I've paid less to REAL Walking Dead stars at conventions who had lines and people knew their character names. I've always been okay with Marcus not being willing to condemn Ken ... but shilling for him? That is really pushing the bounds of okay.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't pushing the bounds of okay, it flat out is NOT okay. How much money has Ken Whitman defrauded people out of? This guy is helping a con man who has been taking advantage of our community time and time again.
DeleteNot my local store so it isn't like Marcus is losing my business but I certainly have ZERO respect for anyone shilling for a con man.
For $20 can I have a picture of someone kicking him in the balls...?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.cbsnews.com/news/when-is-an-online-threat-illegal-and-when-is-it-free-speech/
DeleteOh wait, on the bright side, people know where to serve Whitman with legal papers. I'd love to hear about a line of process servers in the "autograph" line. That would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteHow Ken will fail to deliver the picture and signature when he's right there is what I'm wondering. It seems like he's found something that he will fulfill for once, but don't count out Ken's ability to welch out of delivering anything.
ReplyDeleteSounds like he's on hard times. Maybe he could try crowd funding. You know like Gofundme..? oh... right. Well Black Friday is aroundt the corner. He coud try that "give me five bucks for nothing" he did last year. Just chagne the dates on his coupon.
ReplyDeleteI personally liked "he could use a cash infusion for things like -you know-food." So all the money squeezed out of the KoDT Community, not to mention KenzerCo itself or the other groups (pencil dice, Traveller, C&C, etc.) were for things like -you know- food?
ReplyDeleteFB post earlier today: "Some thief just ripped me off! Help me ID him so I can have him arrested and prosecuted!"
ReplyDeletehttps://www.facebook.com/TitanGamesandComicsLondon/videos/1229977673705488/
Literally an hour later: "And now, here's my pal, Kenny Whitman! Give this honest hard-working soul some money!"
