Mega Millions is at $640 Million - I Wonder How Much D&D Would Cost? ;)

Mega Millions is causing Lotto Fever here in the states now that the prize has hit $640 Million.

I was just wondering how much it would cost to buy Dungeons & Dragons from WotC / Hasbro.

Hey, a dollar and a dream, ya never know ;)

  1. I bought a ticket and I was thinking the same thing.

  2. I like the thinking, and I'd imagine you'd have some change out of your half billion.

But even if it's not you, what are the odds on a big winner having at least a soft spot for the game based on the odd session or two in their youth? Pretty good I'd say. Maybe that's the angle, us getting together a petition?

  3. I'd go to culinary school. Then Tim can quit his job and play golf all ding dong day long, if he wanted.

  6. What would be the first thing you did if you did buy it?

  7. I think it would depend on how much they've valued the brand. My guess would be $50m-$100m based on potential future earnings from video game/TV/movie deals. If you strip out all that, then D&D as it stands is probably only worth a single dollar at best.

The next question is, if you did buy it, what would you do with it?

  8. I thought the same thing. I've got decades of experience in publishing and prone to waste money on new business ventures...
