Kickstarter - Temple of The Sheep God (ShadowDark Adventure)

Here's the part where I talk about connections. I've known Ian McGarty for about a decade. He's very creative, a truly loyal friend, and quite often a pain in the ass. That pretty much sums it all up ;)

Temple of the Sheep God is a ShadowDark adventure by Ian McGarty. It's part sandbox, part dungeon crawl, and 100% Silver Bulette. $It's 25 for print plus PDF.

This adventure for the Shadowdark RPG takes place in a dangerous 24-mile hex filled with remnants of past battles, where players encounter various creatures and challenges. The setting includes a temple dedicated to a sheep god, featuring unique encounters, treasures, and magical items. The Temple of The Sheep God is an adventure for Shadowdark for characters levels 2-4. The characters have a chance to explore the grasslands around an ancient temple that has gained some new inhabitants. This adventure has a dungeon containing more than 20 room locations. All locations are extensively mapped and filled with exciting puzzles and encounters.

The book contains maps, art, and original monsters and encounters, including the deadly Boggle!

The temple features various unique rooms with magical items and challenges.

Rooms include the Mushroom Cave, the Infernal Coop, and the Rare Cheese Sanctum, each with distinct creatures and treasures.

Players can find items that enhance abilities or provide unique effects, such as the Rod of Life and the Ring of the Rams-head.

At this point, this project is in the final layout touches, most art is in and ready to go, and is otherwise print-ready. The final product will be about 50 pages of perfect-bound 8.5 x 5.5 sized digest, like the Shadowdark core book.

This product will be printed in the USA and distributed from the beautiful NH mountains with as much child labor that ice cream can buy.

Kickstarter - FANTASTIC GEOGRAPHIC # 3

An RPG zine for all systems and none.

I love the guys from Silver Bulette. Seriously. In a completely platonic manner. :)

All of the Silver Bulette releases have a certain raw energy to them, with a willingness to not be what one might expect. Or something to that effect, it's hard to explain. heh

For example, look at the cover above by Chet Milton. It looks very familiar, and it should, and yet the more you look at it, the more you discover. Hidden pieces, and punchlines to jokes you may not have heard yet, but when you do, it morphs to another level. That's kinda my expectation with Fantastic Geographic #3.

We will be printing a 48 page digest sized 'zine.

This issue of Fantastic Geographic focuses on the theme of languages. You will find articles on:

  • Riddles and their use
  • Ciphers and how to include them effectively
  • An adventure set in a library
  • An adventurer for 5E involving a missing ticket, a forger, and a hermit in the woods
  • New magic items from McEwan's Mercantile
  • ..and more!

Kickstarter - Fantastic Geographic Issue #2

Time is running out to back the Fantastic Geographic Issue #2 Kickstarter for the Silver Bulette folk (who WILL be on the Talking Crit Livestream tomorrow night June 22, 8 PM Eastern). Compatible with Mork Borg, but easily used with the OSR system of your choice. 6 bucks in PDF, 22 bucks - shipped for print plus PDF.

Fantastic Geographic Issue 2 is chock full of articles and is weighing it at over 60 black and white pages printed on 60# paper with an 80# glossy cover,  just like issue 1.

This issue is focused on the APOCALYPSE theme and you will find everything from techno-zombies compatible with way too many RPG systems to an Apocalypse Generator. We have RPG design greats, like Skeeter Green, discussing mixing fantasy and sci-fi because he digs peanut butter with his chocolate as much as we do.

This issue features a wrap around cover by Dan Smith and some interiors. Other interior artists include David SImpson, Ed Bickford of Metal Robot, Del Teigeler, and more.

Some of the articles include:

  • A post apocalyptic jungle lab adventure
  • The Laboratory of Thom Barker
  • Otto's Muffins: the next episode of the Turf War adventure path
  • The Junk Dragon
  • Techno-zombies
  • An apocalypse generator
  • A Night at the Lamb's Bray Inn

Kickstarter - Creeping Cold - a 5E adventure that promises chills and excitement!

I know I've mentioned Silver Bulette before. Ian and Rocky are two old school gamers that have dipped their toes into Kickstarter with a 5e release called Creeping Cold. What's that you say? No OSR version of the adventure? Well, if it hits the $3500 stretch goal (its currently sitting at over $2500) there will be a free Swords & Wizardry version of the PDF included for every backer at the $10 level or higher. Good stuff!

What makes this extra special is it's written and ready to go to the printer once they receive the funds from Kickstarter:
Creeping Cold is 30+ pages:
  • An overview and introduction
  • Optional cold rules
  • 4 pages of NPCs, including a quick-reference chart
  • Timeline of events
  • Maps of the caravansarai (2 interior and 1 exterior) and a dungeon
  • Pages of adventure and intrigue
  • Pages of new monsters and spells
  • 4 player handouts
We are ready to print and prepared to ship. The module has color as well as black and white player handouts (and maps) for ease of the DM's printer. Once Silver Bulette has the funding in hand, we intend to be at the printer within 10 days.
Yep, that's still a Kickstarter rarity these days.

10 bucks for the PDF, 25 for the Print plus PDF. I think I'm jumping in for the print version myself.

Quick note - I know Ian and Rocky. We've gamed together at cons and they participate in the weekly Wednesday Night Tavern Chats on the Tavern's Discord Server. Heck, we've shared meals together. I've watched them set their bar higher and higher with each release and I'm looking forward to holding Creeping Cold in my own hands.
