Another WTF Kickstarter - Games of Thrones RPG With Online play (License? We don' need no steenken license!)

First, it's GAME of Thrones - not plural.

Second, you are looking to raise nearly $325K - just who the fuck are you?

Third, you don't have the license, so how can you even raise money?

Fourth, as you apparently have difficulty using proper English or punctuation in your pitch (and can't even get the title of your Kickstarter correct), why would anybody give you anything?

You don't really exist, do you?

You Can Learn About Life When You Play the Game of Thrones...

Do you remember The Game of Life? Driving around the game board with a car full of peg people, trying to get to the end before anyone else? I think I played the 1978 version, as it still had convertibles.

What did I learn about life Playing the Game of Life? Jack shit. I mean, I thought I was learning something, but I wasn't.  It was entertaining as hell when you're 12 years old and haven't yet found out about D&D and the like.

The Game of Thrones (HBO TV Series - I've yet to read the books), however, is a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

You learn life takes unexpected turns, that life hurts, love hurts, that family is sometimes just pawns in a larger game. Loyalty comes at a price and even then is not guaranteed. The Game of Thrones is very much like life. Not mine, certainly. Probably not yours. It is, however, real enough though to have real life visions reflected in it.

Does that make for a good RPG? I don't know about that, and that is another beast of a book that I'll have to take up the challenge to review after RQ6. My wife expressed interest in the GoT RPG, but I think that is solely because she's enjoying the TV series. Ah hell, who am I kidding? I know that's the only reason, but it will be nice to get a non-gamer's view on the RPG. I'll see if we can pull it off...

Playing Catch Up With Game of Thrones on a Rainy Sunday

I caught the 1st two episodes of the series last year, but as I had to rely of the kindness of friends (no HBO - can't justify it) I never caught the rest.  Until I realized Amazon had the 1st season for sale in DVD.  Quickly snagged it.

Today is a nice rainy day here in NYC, so I figured I'd see if my wife was open to watching it.  As she fell asleep during the Fellowship of the Ring just after the initial credits, I figure red this would turn into one of those "watch it while she's at yoga" type of shows.

Nope.  Although she almost succumbed to Mr Sandman in the first 20 minutes, she suddenly got hooked.  Hooked as in me telling her after we watched episode 6 "We have work in the morning and 4 more hours of viewing to finish the season.  Let's call it for now."

She's hooked, I'm having a blast.  It's going to be a long wait for season 2 when we wrap this up ;)
