Kickstarter - Dark Naga - Haunting of Hastur - Hardback - 5e and OSR

I've thoroughly enjoyed the individual releases in the Haunting of Hastur line of adventures from Dark Naga. Of course, the later ones were written for 5e and I would have had to convert them to run them. I almost backed the limited print run of the 5 adventures as a bundle in the OSR format but the stars didn't align, so I'm thrilled to see an OSR version as an option with the latest Haunting of Hastur - Hardback - 5e and OSR Kickstarter.

This is an omnibus collection of the five released adventures and it comes with Virtual Table Top (VTT) ready maps. Fog of War, here I come!

The Haunting of Hastur is a campaign designed to integrate with starting adventures like the 5e boxed set, or other introductory works and take the party through level twelve.  

The party members start out on a job to investigate missing people and are pulled into a confrontation with those who would bring Hastur back to the world. 

The campaign is a non-linear adventure that leaves a lot of room for roleplaying.  

The book will be about 240 pages, case bound hardback with a full cover interior on 70-pound paper. This tome includes the following adventures: DNH1a – Sidequest – River Crossing, DNH1 – The Lost Temple of Forgotten Evil, DNH2 – The Buried Zikurat, DNH3 – The City of Talos (Adventure, Gazetteer and Bestiary), DNH4 – Confronting Hastur, and DNH5 – Carcosa. All of which have been previously run as individual projects on Kickstarter to publish the old school, detached cover module prints.  

The PDF rewards for this campaign include the PDF versions of the Complete editions of the five individual modules. The complete version includes the 5e, OSR and in two cases, the Pathfinder version of the adventures. 

I should mention that Kevin is having the original B&W art colorized for this release.

30 bucks get you the Digital Complete level - everything in PDF, including both OSR and 5e versions.

70 bucks get you the Hardcover print copy in either OSR or 5e, plus everything listed in the Digital Complete backer level.

Kickstarter - Dark Naga - OSR Haunting of Hastur Modules

The Haunting of Hastur series of modules were originally a 5e release. The Dark Naga - OSR Haunting of Hastur Modules Kickstarter brings them to the OSR.

Dark Naga has a history of doing some solid RPG releases, regardless of system, and I expect nothing less from their latest release.

The Haunting of Hastur series has been very successful for Dark Naga Adventures. However, they were never successful enough to unlock the OSR print run stretch goal. Several OSR fans have lamented this shortfall. This is my wish fulfillment project for the OSR community, particularly those fans who have waited for their version in the classic print format. 

This Kickstarter project has just one reward, all five modules in the old school print format: wrap around, detached covers, maps on the inner cover, saddle stitched (stapled) booklet. Simple. No stretch goals, just a low target small print run to give the backers who have wanted this version in this print format to have their wish granted.  

There is a little bit of editing to be done. See below on changes to DNH1 - The Lost Temple of Forgotten Evil. Beyond that, as soon as the project funds, I will order the proofs, and as soon as they are verified, the print copies will be ordered. This will be a fast cycle project. So fast, that there won't be any add-ons available via Backerkit. I expect to place the print order a few days after the funds post to my account.

There is one backer level. 100 bucks for 5 modules, detachable covers. All the good shit :) 

Kickstarter - Dark Naga - Carcosa for 5th Edition (Less than 2 days left to fund)

Just a quick reminder before I settle in for a sweltering weekend of blogging / podcasting / publishing / project managing / catching up - phew! There is just under 2 days left in the funding period of the Dark Naga - Carcosa for 5th Edition Kickstarter. Yes, there are other Carcosas. No, this isn't them. This is this ;)

Oh, and Kevin updated the KS page to state there will be an OSR version of the adventure coming later.

All backers at $20 not only get Print plus PDf of the adventure but also two custom d6s. That's pretty nifty :)

Yeah, the sweet point is 20 bucks in my opinion.

The project is funded and hitting stretch goals. No brainer if you play 5e. East to convert if you play OSR.

Kickstarter - Dark Naga - Confronting Hastur for 5th Edition

I enjoyed Dark Naga's first Kickstarter release, The Lost Temple of Forgotten Evil which was released for 5e / OSR. It was simply a strong adventure release, regardless of system. Dark Naga's latest Kickstarter is Confronting Hastur for 5th Edition.

As I type this, the project is just $173 short of its 2k goal for funding. If it hits 5k, we get an OSR edition in digital (and Pathfinder too for those that care. I think 5k is well within reach.

I'm looking forward to seeing this and future Dark Naga releases in OSR flavors ;)
