Humble Bundle - Play Pink (Gloomhaven Small World, Arkham Horror, & More)

The Play Pink Bundle (supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, thus "Pink") includes digital versions of MANY top games, including Gloomhaven, Small World, Arkham Horror, Game of Thrones, Carcassonne, and others. The core Gloomhaven game is nearly 35 bucks by itself on Steam, yet the full Play Pink Bundle is only 20 bucks (10 bucks if you DON'T want Gloomhaven).

Kickstarter - Dungeon Escape (Do NOT launch your KS like this)

Its been a while since I pointed out a Kickstarter that hit multiple "don't use this Kickstarter as an example of what to do with your Kickstarter" points. Ah, Dungeon Escape Kickstarter, let me count the ways...

1 - The sample art used for this Kickstarter is NOT what you want to use.

2 - Zero backed. If you can't spend a few dollars to learn how Kickstarter works, you don't deserve my money.

3 - First project, $30k goal. Does Not Compute.

4 - THIS is the sample game board!?!

5 - The game is aimed at parents to play with young childer. Again, look above.

6 This is what a marketing and PR professional offers?

The pandemic isn't causing this one to fail. It's doing fine on its own.

Kickstarter - Dwarves of Iron Peak - Two Player Boardgame

Trolls are so big, all you get are the feet ;)

I've got a confession to make. I've backed a number of fantasy themed board game Kickstarters and have yet to play them. Most require three or more players and I'm just not getting that number of players at my kitchen table.

Dwarves of Iron Peak might actually get played. Why?

Small time commitment and two players? That's a win / win in my book.

Did I mention it has dwarves? Or that the boxed set buy in is 44 bucks?

Yep, the minis look damn good too.

Pin the troll's feet with the spears. That's actually pretty damn cool.

Now to find room on the gaming shelves...

Game Flashback - Wabbit Wampage

Wabbit Wampage was a fun filled board game from Pacesetter Games released in 1985. I think I snagged my copy in 86 or 87.

What other game includes just about every classic cartoon method player destruction? I mean, a rabbit with a chainsaw rocks ;)

This wasn't a quick game, and at times it could get confusing, but it was certainly oneof the go to games along with Chaos Maruaders and Warlock of Firetop Mountain to fill in time when we lacked a full group for our RPG session.

I've Got a Ticket to Ride

Saturdays are the day that my girl, my mother and myself often sit down for board games. Last year we did a lot of Carcasone. When we added in the Big Box, it became one hell of a production.

Recently we started playing a lot of Uno, more for the ease of set-up and play then anything else. I didn't have the energy to be the point man keeping all the various rules from then big box in line, and neither my mother nor my fiancée were so inclined to me the rule master.

Last Saturday I broke out Ticket to Ride for the first time. It was a blast. Nice change of pace from Uno and Carcosone. If my folks weren't going away for the weekend, its a safe bet it would be returning to the table. It may need to wait a week or two, but it shall return.

Hmmm... I don't think I could get them to play Decent...
