Ken Whitman - 25K In Debt by his Own Account - "I'll Gladly Refund You - In Six More Months"
Thanks to my anonymous source who who forwarded me this email chain. There were four previous email requests for a refund dating back to April 3 that went unanswered.
Reminds me of the character Wimpy from the old Popeye cartoons.. "I would gladly pay you [give u stuff] Tuesday for a hamburger [your money] today." And then Tuesday never comes... In postings elsewhere, it has come out that Noble Knight did not receive all of what they paid Ken for, and have been stiffed for no small amount (in the hundreds, if not a couple grand). Jolly is taking a tally of everyone who has received their KotDT books over on the KenzerCo and Kickstarter forums, as it appears Whit has made the claim that all backers have received their books. I suppose he wants us to believe that was why NK had some copies (leftovers?)... And the size of Whit's "Network" on Stage32.com continues to grow, now at 20 other users of the site. And so it goes...
Ouch! Those paypal charge backs are a bitch. I take no joy in seeing this guy flame out so completely. But wow - it's like watching a long slow train wreck.
I have no problem keeping Ken's feet to the fire. If folks aren't going to get what they paid for at the very least no one else should get scammed by him.
Well said, I have no problem with it either. I'd just like to say thanks for keeping this awesome site running. It is helping all of us stay informed of Ken Whitshit's clumsy path of crime and failure.
Ken is not so broke - all an act. He claimed he sold all the equipment he bought with backer money a few months ago. Poor Ken - had to sell it to eat he claimed. Well, three different people have confirmed he still he the equipment and is busy trying to get film\production work. I assume the unknowing future victims are lining up now.
