Traveller5 Has Renewed My Interest in Classic Traveller

So, my disappointment in Taveller5 has led to a desire to take a closer look at Classic Traveller, my first Sci-fi RPG experience.

This CD has all the stuff I never had for Traveller, and I wouldn't mind running a short campaign or extended story arc using the classic rules. Say what you will about them, but they worked (except the ship to ship combat, which was a bit wonky if I recall correctly).

It has also gotten me to think about doing a simple hack for Swords & Wizardry to bring the fantasy game into the Sci-Fi genre. I like my sci-fi and I prefer a simple D&D styles system as the engine. There are of course, other choices out there for such - Stars Without Number, X-Plorers and the like, but sometimes your own vision differs.

Eh, time will tell. So much shit on my "Things to Do" list ;)

In the meantime I have some Classic Traveller reading awaiting me.
