GM's Day Sale - Knave 2e 50% Off

God, but I love Mullen's art - simply a fantastic cover!

Knave is Ben Milton's love letter to the OSR. It is NOT your traditional D20 game, but at 50% off, Knave should be in every GM's resource collection. One of the most valuable tools you'll ever put in your toolbox.

Typically, 20 bucks are in PDF format; for the GM's Day Sale, Knave is marked down to 10 bucks.

Here's a link to other deeply discounted titles.

"Somehow, Ben has improved upon the original Knave in ways I couldn't have anticipated. I'm blown away." - Professor Dungeon Master, Dungeon Craft

"The most varied and useful smorgasbord of random tables I've ever used!" - Baron De Ropp, Dungeon Masterpiece

Knave 2e is an exploration-driven fantasy RPG and worldbuilding toolkit, inspired by the best elements of the Old-School DnD movement.

This edition expands on the intuitive core of the original game, featuring elegant, modular subsystems for hexcrawling, dungeon delving, potion making and downtime activities, all in a 80-page digest-sized hardcover lavishly illustrated by Peter Mullen. The book features:

  • A world-class GM's toolkit. Roll and combine results from 75 d100 tables to rapidly generate dungeons, overworld regions, cities, monsters, items, spells, NPCs and factions, or just scan the pages for inspiration. These are especially useful for people who enjoy playing RPGs solo.
  • Intuitive, unified d20 mechanics that allow new players to make characters and start playing in minutes. Ability scores, armor, and difficulty ratings are placed on a 0-10 scale, yet remain compatible with the adventures and monsters from the last 50 years of fantasy roleplaying. The rules can also effortlessly switch between player-facing and GM-facing rolls.
  • A slot-based inventory system that makes tracking what you carry both easy and mechanically meaningful. If you take enough damage, wounds can begin filling items slots, forcing you to drop gear, treasure, or weapons.
  • Classless character generation that lets PCs draw from multiple archetypes at once. Any PCs can cast spells, call down miracles and use any weapon or armor. Their effectiveness is only restricted by what abilities they choose to improve and how they fill their limited item slots.
  • A d6 Hazard Die system that condenses tracking encounters, clues, weather changes, fatigue, torch burn, and resource depletion into the roll of a single die.
  • A utility-focused magic system that empowers PCs to alter the world in creative ways with 100 level-less spells. Also, a huge spell generator for groups who want chaotic, randomized magic.
  • A relic-driven divine magic system in which PCs complete missions for deities to gain their blessings. Generate new deities including their domains and symbols.
  • A monster-hunting alchemy system where PCs can hunt down magical creatures for their special abilities and then refine them into potions.
  • Downtime activities where PCs carouse, gamble, recruit hirelings, and build bases.
  • A tactical warfare system that resolves mass battles in minutes.
  • Straightforward GM and player principles for getting started running an old-school style game.
  • Designer commentary that explains the reasoning behind the rules.
  • Easy-to-use "control panel" layout.
  • Stunning art by Peter Mullen.

GMs Day Sale at DTRPG

It's that time of the year when DriveThruRPG puts just about their entire PDF storefront on sale for the GMs Day Sale. Sure, there are some exceptions, but if you were waiting to buy something, now is probably a good time. The percentage off runs from 15% to 30%.

The entire Tenkar's Tavern Gamen cataloge is on sale. That includes Torchlight Zero (15%), Torchlight #1 (15%), and Swords & Wizardry Continual Light (30%).

For those asking, we are getting closer to the release of the digest-sized edition of Continual Light (note the new branding). Prior purchasers of any of The Tavern's releases will get a discount when the new edition releases.

GM's Day Sale - Swords & Wizardry Picks

While I'm fairly disappointed with this year's DTRPG GM's Day Sale, as the bundles pretty much suck, and the majority of the titles on sale are only discounted 10%, there are a number of pics that are 40% off for the sale. The picks below are all 40% off.

Here's the link to the Swords & Wizardry picks. My highlighted picks are far from exhaustive.

Tome of Adventure Design - I can't say enough in praise of ToAD. I own multiple physical copies - The Tome of Adventure Design is organized as a series of "books," each one providing resources at every step of the way. The vast majority of the content of each book is made up of random generation tables that we created over a quarter of a century (sigh) for our own use. It should be said upfront that these are tables for deep design - in other words, most of them are too long, and contain too many unusual or contradictory entries, for use on the spot at the gaming table. There are already many excellent books of tables for use on the fly; the tables in these books are different. They work best as a tool for preparation beforehand, providing relatively vast creative resources for browsing and gathering, rather than quick-use tables designed to provide broad, fast brushstrokes. Our shorter tables tend to deliver cryptic results designed to shock the reader's creativity into filling in the gaps, whereas the longer tables are unusably vast for easy random generation, being designed to shock the reader's creativity into operation by presenting a sea of possibilities. 21.99 13.19

Dark Places & Demogorgons - Survive This!! - Core Rule Book - Stranger Things for the OSR - In Dark Places & Demogorgons, you play as high school students during the early 1980s. The town you live in has had a rash of disappearances and strange happenings. The adults seem lost as to what to do, the police are as clueless as ever and aren’t helping and Reverend Phillips is on another witch-hunt. It’s up to you and your friends to figure out what’s going on and stop it from happening again! 9.99 5.99

Operation Unfathomable - I'm dying to run this one dayOPERATION UNFATHOMABLE is a 108-page, internally-consistent, gonzo funhouse module for Swords & Wizardry that runs like a subterranean wilderness trek instead of a “down the 10-foot hall and kick in a door” affair. There are random elements aplenty to keep GMs guessing as well as players. No balanced encounters to be found here, but the clever setup allows low-level characters to drop into the dungeon “deep end” and still have a chance of making it out alive—if they’re smart and wary. 12.00 7.20

White Star: Galaxy Edition - Space opera for the OSR -Ace Pilots, dead-eyed Gunslingers, and irrepressible Star Squirrels blast off across the stars to save the galaxy from the horrors of the Void! Hellfire Mecha march across the battlefield, leaving carnage in their wake! From the galactic center of Omega Consor to the Manrash System on the edge of the universe, the galaxy needs heroes! Endless galactic adventure awaits you in White Star: Galaxy Edition! Integrated and updated to include material from White Star and the White Star Companion, White Star: Galaxy Edition integrates new rules, new options, and expands the original game. Now more than just a toolbox, White Star: Galaxy Edition offers you a universe full of thrilling adventure! 9.99 5.99

Crypts and Things Remastered - Newt did a great job with this Swords & Sorcery hack of the S&W rules - Be a wild Barbarian, a deadly Fighter, a soul-torn Sorcerer or a sword sharp canny Thief, fighting evil tyrants and foul demons in a world rapidly dying and heading towards its final nemesis. Crypts and Things (C&T) is a Swords and Sorcery Roleplaying game based upon the Old School Rules of the 70s/80s. It also draws upon the British fantasy games and game-books of that period to bring a distinctly dark and dangerous feel to the game. It was originally released back in early 2012 and after a highly successful Kickstarter in 2015 it returns in a Remastered edition, with revised and expanded content and entirely new art by David M. Wright. 14.42 8.65

Gathox Vertical Slum - I like the cover and the premise. Snagged! -Welcome to Gathox Vertical Slum, a far-out, gonzo science fantasy campaign setting for Swords & Wizardry White Box Edition and other classic tabletop role-playing games. Aliens, mutants, spellslingers, and hardened criminals struggle for dominance in a lawless city built upon the back of a wandering, world-hopping godling. Inside this tome, you’ll find:* A fully mapped and fleshed out Vertical Slum, stuffed to the gills with greedy factions, hook-laden NPCs, and seedy locations.* A new gangland system for running domain-level games at level 1.* 43 fully illustrated strange and inimical monsters to spring on unsuspecting players.* New classes, skills, ability checks, hirelings, and gear for players to work their will across the mean streets of the Great Spire.* A vertical dungeon introductory adventure to test the skills and resourcefulness of new and seasoned players alike. 9.99 5.99

Eldritch Tales: Lovecraftian White Box Role-Playing - There is much within that I want to put into my next S&W campaign - Eldritch Tales: Lovecraftian White Box Role-Playing in an OSR rule set with its roots in the Original version of the world's favorite RPG, but instead of exploring musty dungeons, characters in Eldritch Tales investigate Mythos horrors in the 1920s! The setting and background are based on the cosmic horror tales of Howard Phillips Lovecraft and other members of his writing circle. Within the pages of Eldritch Tales you will find four character classes representing many classic pulp archetypes, occupations, rules for insanity, spells, monsters, esoteric tomes, artifacts, a starting scenario, and setting material, as well as advice on using Eldritch Tales with other White Box games. This game is compatible with Swords & Wizardry White Box and other OSR games. 6.99 4.19

GMs Day Sale @ DTRPG - A Whole Lotta "Ehhh"

I'm surprised to find myself saying that the GMs Day Sale for 2021 is severely lackluster.

Although some titles ARE 40% off (including Swords & Wizardry Continual Light - a Gold Bestseller), the top dozen or so linked on the sale page are a mere 10% off. Barely noticeable.

Of the six GMs Day Sale bundles, fully half are bundles of "Penny Dreadful One Shots for the Electrum bestselling Through the Breach RPG." How much are the core rules for Through the Breach? Normally 40 bucks, the PDF is on sale for a mere $24. You need the core book to use these bundles of one-shots.

Things that make one go "hmmm!"

Notice that Swords & Wizardry Continual Light is a GOLD Bestseller, a higher ranking than the RPG that has three of the six bundles for the GM Sale. Something seems off, as Electrum and even Gold aren't really that special in the grand scheme of DTRPG sales numbers.

Over the next few days, I'll try and locate some 40% of gems in this "ehhh" sale.

GM's Day is Here -

Yep, March 4th is GMs Day, a remembrance of the passing of Gary Gygax. I remember Gary's passing, or at least my learning of it, quite clearly. I was at work, at my desk, and one of the tabs I had open had the Troll Lord Games Castles & Crusades forums. I refreshed the page and saw a new thread. Gary Gygax had passed. It hit me right in the gut. My son's mother had passed a month and a day prior and all of the emotions came back. I had never met Gary in person but we had conversed on the interwebs, and he had been nothing but a gentleman in our exchanges. Now, I'd never get to take the man up on his invite to play games on his back porch. Never get to shake his hand and thank him for the influence his games had on me becoming the man I had become.

It seems like yesterday and an eternity at the same time.

If it weren't for Gary it's likely our hobby would never exist. Scary thought, that. Gary, I owe you much. Not just from the direct joy of gaming, but the problem solving and social skills that roleplaying gave me.

In any case, DriveThruRPG is holding a GM's Day sale. Heck, even Swords & Wizardry Continual Light is 20% off in PDF (it's just 2 bucks right now)

We'll now return to our usual postings :)

Yep, those are affiliate links above. Affiliate links put a portion of sales generated into The Tavern's coffers. I thank you in advance.

GM's Day Sale - Tavern OSR Picks - Part 3 - Astonishing Swordsmen & Barbarians Delve into The Temple full of Monsters of Mythras

Its March and that means the annual GM's Sale at RPGNow. I'll be putting together a series of Tavern OSR Picks for this year's sale (although a pick or two may stray from those OSR parameters). This is Part 3. Part 2 is here. Part 1 is here.

T1-4 Temple of Elemental Evil - "What began years ago, with the introduction of the players to the quiet village of Hommlet and the amazing lands of Greyhawk, at last is complete. Here is the long-awaited campaign adventure, featuring the ruins of the Temple of Elemental Evil, where a great evil broods and grows beneath its blasted stones. This is your chance to drive it back and scatter its force again. This product includes the village of Hommlet, the filthy shire of Nulb, and reveals the ruins of the Temple of Elemental Evil and the labyrinths that lie beneath, a warren of darkness. And beyond these ruins, even more is revealed. For the first time, this product provides a complete campaign adventure, which will take beginning characters from 1st all the way to 8th level and possibly beyond! Hours of adventuring await you!"  9.99  6.69

Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea (Second Edition) -
"AS&SH is sword-and-sorcery role-playing at its pinnacle. Play an Amazon fighter, Atlantean magician, Esquimaux shaman, Hyperborean warlock, Ixian necromancer, Keltic barbarian, Kimmerian cataphract, Pictish thief, Viking berserker, or one of many other possibilities. The heroes of a HYPERBOREA campaign delve the mazes and labyrinths of vast dungeons filled with horrifying monsters, lethal traps, and bewildering puzzles. They explore savage frontiers, breach hostile borderlands, probe ancient ruins, and investigate cursed tombs. They plunder for treasure and magic in a decaying world inhabited by bloodthirsty beasts and weird, otherworldly beings. Now in its second edition, AS&SH™ has been expanded to include new classes, new spells, new monsters, new magic items, and more! It also includes a new, full colour map, an introductory town and adventure, as well as hundreds of new illustrations! This new edition is backwards-compatible with the original edition of the game."  19.00  12.73

Barbarians of Lemuria: Mythic Edition - "The Second Age of Man is a savage time of sorcery and bloodshed, where strong men and beautiful women battle with warlords, priests, magicians and gladiators to carve a bloody path to the Throne of Lemuria... Barbarians of Lemuria is a heroic role-playing game set firmly in the sword-and-sorcery genre. Lemuria is a post-apocalyptic world thousands of years in the future and unrecognisable to anyone from today. The continent has returned to an almost prehistoric state – a land of steaming jungles, vast untamed wildernesses, horror-filled swamplands, and sunbaked deserts. Massive man-eating beasts roam the unexplored regions of Lemuria and beyond, from island-sized sea serpents capable of sinking wargalleys, to the huge jungle-dwelling dinosaurs that can swallow a man whole."   11.04  7.40

Dungeon Full of Monsters - "Dungeon Full of Monsters is a modular megadungeon for use with Labyrinth Lord and other old school fantasy role-playing games. The Dungeon is Modular: The megadungeon is composed of 50
individual sections, separated into 5 different levels. You can assemble these in any configuration you like, either randomly or not, either before the campaign or on-the-fly in play. You can also use these sections on their own, without reference to the larger dungeon itself. And Full of Monsters: The second half of the book contains dozens of monsters, illustrated in full colour, often with multiple variations and types. Combined with the unique monsters located in specific dungeon sections, this book contains over 150 different monster stat blocks. There are criminal organizations, insane cultists, meddling deities, evil wizards, undead kings, infernal demons and other invaders from beyond the stars, numerous unspeakable horrors and arcane beasts, and even a few rival adventurers. Use these monsters with this dungeon or any other."  15.00  10.05

GM's Miscellany: Dungeon Dressing (System Neutral Edition) - "Tired of dungeons lacking in verisimilitude? Want to add cool little features of interest to your creations but don't have the time to come up with nonessential details? Want to make your dungeons feel more realistic? Then GM’s Miscellany: Dungeon Dressing (System Neutral Edition) is for you! This gigantic compilations comprises all 34 instalments in the line as well as scores of riddles, new material and design essays by Creighton.  GM’s Miscellany: Dungeon Dressing (System Neutral Edition) presents loads of great features to add to your dungeon. Designed to be used both during preparation or actual play, GM’s Miscellany: Dungeon Dressing (System Neutral Edition)  is an invaluable addition to any GM's armoury!"  13.99  9.37

Dungeons & Delvers - Black Book - "This extensively playtested, profusely illustrated, lightweight-yet-complete roleplaying game is an homage to the "Easy-to-Master" black box of the first role-playing game (and the first version or edition that I ever played) that does everything I wish the original did (which might also include some stuff you wish it did, too). Like the black box, the Dungeons & Delvers: Black Book contains four races (which function as races do in later editions: they’re not racial classes), four classes, and five levels, though each class has far more talents than you can possibly choose from in a five-level spread, and there are guidelines if you want to go beyond 5th-level (there are also guidelines for making and converting monsters if you want more variety)."  6.99  4.68

Mythras - "Mythras is the new name for an older game, but while the name might have changed, the system remains the same, but presented in an updated format with new interior artwork and layout design, along with some new content (Special Effects, small tweaks to the rules, and Spirit Combat Effects). In fact, we've managed to pack more into a smaller space, and reduced the price accordingly. For those new to the game, Mythras is a percentile system. In Mythras your characters are defined by their culture, career, community, background, comrades, skills, magic and cults. Progression is through skill advancement – not levels or similarly abstract concepts. As your characters adventure and quest, their capabilities improve and their relationships deepen and strengthen. Players and Games Masters have complete flexibility over what can be achieved, and the way characters develop is entirely dependent on choices players make, depending on their characters’ aspirations and motivations. Games Masters receive a huge amount of support through the Mythras rules. All the concepts and game mechanics are explained clearly with options and considerations explored and presented for ease of use. You need only this rulebook for many years of exciting and imaginative play."  15.00  10.05

& Wilderness Adventures plus the Reference Sheets booklet." 9.99  6.69

Al-Qadim: Arabian Adventures (2e) - "Magic carpets, ghoulish vixens, genies rising from the sand in a whirlwind of smoke and fire - such wonders, spun into tales by fabled Scheherasade, enchanted a king for a thousand and one nights. The Al-Qadim campaign will enchant role-players for a thousand and one more.
You are about to discover an exotic realm inspired by the tales of Sinbad, Ali Baba, and other classics from the Arabian Nights. The first in a series of products, this volume features everything DM's and players need to launch the Al-Qadim campaign."  4.99  3.34

Dungeon Builder's Guidebook - "What if you already design all your own dungeons? Though the advice and tips in here and may be old news to you, even the most experienced Dungeon Master is sometimes strapped for time or inspiration. Dungeon Builder's Guidebook is perfect for generating the dungeon hook you need at a moment's notice, the goblin warren the PCs accidentally stumble upon, or the pocket dimension you did not get a chance to detail.  Dungeon Builder's Guidebook contains the following features: Basic pointers and advice on building dungeons. Permutations that provide ways to " twist" your dungeon in exciting ways. Six distinct dungeon types, each accompanied by property and encounter tables to help your flesh out your dungeon. A collection of 78 geomorphs that you can photocopy, trace, or freehand onto your own maps. The Trap Architect, at detailed process for generating lethal traps. The Autodungeon Engine, a series of tables that allow your to create a dungeon by attaching random geomorphs together, forming a unique dungeon each time." 4.99  3.34

GM's Day Sale - Tavern OSR Picks - Part 1 Mithgarther's Midlands are Beyond the Wall in the Night Below

Its March and that means the annual GM's Sale at RPGNow. I'll be putting together a series of Tavern OSR Picks for this year's sale (although a pick or two may stray from those OSR parameters). This is Part 1.

Midlands Low Magic Sandbox Setting - "The Midlands is half setting, half DIY toolkit filled with tables and tools to assist the GM to run an improvised sandbox, including fifty Adventure Frameworks to sprinkle around the region (mini adventures with enough meat to kickstart an adventure, but enough flexibility to expand/adapt to player choices). The Midlands' main themes include: Grim Cities, Deadly Outlands, Dangerous Magic, Silent Gods and Ancient Mysteries. Despite the dangers, the wilds beckon with crumbling ruins, lost treasures, & forgotten secrets." 10.00  6.70

Mithgarthr RPG Core Rulebook - "Enter a rich, original world inspired by
Norse and Germanic culture. Explore the dark places where Gooblitts and Dýrverr roam. Battle against the treacherous forces of Chaos led by Orcus and The Thrir. Die horribly at the hands of greenskins while trying to get rich quick with your friends! Mithgarthr takes its mechanics from the fifth edition of the world's most popular role playing game, but molds them against its grim setting. Characters start at zero level with just the skills they have from their mundane profession (of which there are nine to choose from) and a desire to make a better life for themselves. Players may choose from seven races including the murine Ratten and the winged, hawk-like Fjothr. Life is cheap and death comes often, but those adventurers who survive long enough to attain first level have eight iconic classes to choose from. Magic is cast using a point system, and is less common than usual. Monsters have their own magic system, drawing their power from Orcus." 19.99  13.39

Beyond the Wall and Other Adventures - "Lots of times, we want to play a roleplaying game but just don’t have the time for all the prep work involved. No more. Beyond the Wall and Other Adventures is a kit to make a gang of childhood friends and send them off on their first big adventure, just like in the novels we loved growing up. Now we have this simple fantasy roleplaying game that gives a group of players all the tools they need to play an exciting adventure in a single evening, no homework, no fuss. Anyone with a background in OSR games will already be comfortable with the core rules of Beyond the Wall."   7.99  5.34

Fossiorian, Grays, Mutant, Petrol Head, Robot, Scavenger, Technologist, Wasteland Warrior, Wizard of the Wasteland. New piecemeal armor system that incorporates damage resistance, ablatives, and armor degradation An extensive, revised mutation system usable by all characters and creatures An expanded vehicular creation and combat system for all of your petrolhead needs A pantheon of Umerican Gods and Patrons, old and new A comprehensive section on the Citadel of Scrap, a good campaign starting point for exploring Umerica. Dozens of random tables covering aspects of everyday wasteland life, finding salvage, and adventure creation plus much, much more! All fully compatible with the Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game from Goodman Games."  9.99  6.69

Esoterica Exhumed - "More than 30 new races, from centaurs to little pigs to mythic races inspired by the Norse, Aztec and Indian mythologies. Dozens of new classes. A multitude of new magic-user, cleric and druid spells. Rules for piecemeal and used armor. An optional proficiency system for weapons, tasks and spells. Psionics. Zero-level characters. New magic items and artifacts. Esoterica Exhumed works with most Old School systems, and is written specifically for the Blood & Treasure 2nd Edition rules."  7.99  5.35

Night Below: An Underdark Campaign - "Night Below, the first epic campaign adventure for the AD&D game, is designed to take the player characters from 1st level to 10th level and beyond. The PCs start as beginning
adventures on a routine courier mission who soon become drawn into combating a sinister plot that menaces the pleasant land of Haranshire.  By the end of Book I, The Evils of Haranshire, the player characters should have worked their way up to 5th level. Book II, Perils of the Underdark, shifts the scene underground as the characters search the seemingly endless realm of the underdark to discover the fate of the kidnappers' victims. By the time they reach the dark cavern of The Sunless Sea in Book III, they should each be 10th level or above, ready at last to confront the ultimate evil behind the far-reaching conspiracy."  9.99  6.69

B2 - Keep on the Borderland - "This module includes a cover folder with maps and a complete description booklet to form a ready-made scenario for DUNGEONS & DRAGONS® Basic Set. Within are many features to aid novice players and Dungeon Masters: legends, history and background information, a list of adventuring characters, tips on how to be an effective Dungeon Master, plus an interesting area for characters to base themselves in (the Keep) before setting out to explore the Caves of Chaos."  4.99  3.34

OSR Picks for the GM's Day Sale, Part IX - Last 24 Hours and Counting! Last post in the Series!

Yep, we are under the 24 hour mark for time remaining i the RPGNow GM's Sale. These will be my last picks. That doesn't mean if something didn't make my pick list that it wasn't good - it probably means I ran out of space.

It also means time is running out at these sale prices. Next major RPGNow sale will probably be Christmas in July.

This post is Part VIPart I ,  Part II , Part III, Part IV,  Part V Part VI Part VII and Part VIII are linked. Remember, 5% of your purchase goes to support The Tavern and associated costs for projects like Swords & Wizardry Light and the upcoming Torchlight Zine.

Slumbering Ursine Dunes - I think someone else said it better than I ever could - "Want a healing potion? No generic shit in this, you’ll instead be drinking the pure white soul of someone who has drowned in a pond." - Bryce Lynch, Ten Foot Pole - There ya go ;) - "Run, play or splice up 66 pages of mayhem and weirdness in this Slavic mythic-inspired (with an acid fantasy-twist) mini-sandbox for Labyrinth Lord or the well-aged fantasy rpg of your druthers. What You Will Find Inside: • A 25-site pointcrawl of the otherwordly Slumbering Ursine Dunes region. Beyond the big ticket adventure sites you will find along the way a Polevik-haunted rye field, a Zardoz head-living hermit, bearling pilgrimage site, antediluvian beaver engineers and other assorted madness. • Two separate “dungeons”, the bio-mechanical, lost-in-time Golden Barge and the faction-contested Glittering Tower, with enough detail and portability to be slotted into an existing campaign. • The Chaos Index, a dynamic events system for modeling the mythic weirdness of the Dunes. Actions of the players in the sandbox will escalate or de-escalate the levels of events. • Four competing factions operating inside the Dunes, plus guidelines for their mutual interactions. • Unique player classes, spells and magic items compatible with Labyrinth Lord. • 15 new and unique monsters, many drawn from Slavic mythology (with a twist or three, naturally)." $9.00  $6.30

The Wizardarium of Calabraxis - some of my picks are downright cheap. amazing quality and price. grab this now! - "17 pages of fun, built around a core of an easy to run 2 page overview. The Wizardarium of Calabraxis starts off with strangely behaving apemen, but players who start to explore the cave where they reside will soon discover there is a lot going on: ancient civilizations, the mad experiments of a forgotten wizard, and a couple unique magic items are guaranteed to provide a lot of bang for your buck to your players. This module has stats for the DCCRPG, but if one wants to work around the weird dice, this module is probably at home in just about any OSR rules system. Characters of almost any DCC level will probably have fun in this adventure; just adjust some numbers until the exact right number of PCs are dying ;)" $1.95  $1.50

Ruins & Ronin - Ah, did you think I was done with the awesome and inexpensive selections? Well, you were wrong. Maybe medieval fantasy isn't your style. Maybe you want to adventure in the orient. Maybe you want your non European setting rules to be Swords & - Wizardry derived - "A complete set of rules for playing an old school fantasy game (Swords & Wizardry compatible) in a medieval Japanese-like setting.  What's inside: Unique player classes and races. Japanese-styled weapons, equipment and magic items.  A complete 32-page bestiary of monsters and spirits."

Cryptworld - Back in my college days of gaming, I really enjoyed Chill! Then they made a hardcover book for it and I didn't enjoy it anymore. I enjoy Cryptworld, the spiritual successor - "CRYPTWORLD is a horror role-playing game in which you investigate and hunt the forces of the unexplained.
