Deal of the Day - Tiny Supers (d6)

I'm a fan of the Tiny d6 system. It hits my sweet spot of easy to learn yet robust ruleset. I am not a huge fan of "supers" RPGs in general, but Tiny Supers is a game I would play and possibly run. It's simply that good.

Tiny Supers is currently the Deal of the Day at DTRPG. Normally 19.99 in PDF, until tomorrow morning you can snag Tiny Supers for a mere 4 bucks.

Tiny Supers is the newest iteration of the minimalist roleplaying system TinyD6!

Powered by the TinyD6 engine, with streamlined mechanics that utilize only one to three single six-sided dice on every action, characters that can be written on a 3x5 notecard, and easy to understand and teach rules, Tiny Supers is great for all groups, ages, and experience levels who want to enjoy fast and accessible superheroics! Characters are created quickly, with a simple power selection system designed to be fast, inuitive, and easy to understand.

A wide range of innovations on the TinyD6 ruleset allow you to craft nearly any superhero you can imagine. Versatile Power Traits model comic book style powers, utilizing a 3-tier format to show the increasing potency of superpowers. Subtle changes to the combat system allow for quick, cinematic comic book action, while still remaining easy to resolve and understand!

Featuring the near-future comic-inspired GallantVerse (Gallant Knight Games’ first default TinyD6 setting!), as well as standalone micro-verses, Tiny Supers provides you with a toolbox approach and framework to create exciting and easy to run superhero stories at your table!

So grab some dice, some pencils, some friends, and get ready for some minimalist, straight-forward, super-heroic roleplaying!

Free RPG Zine - Casket of Feys (Dragon Warriors RPG)

I remember seeing the advertisements for Dragon Warriors in Dragon Magazine back in the 80s. Sadly, it was a UK release, and I was never able to track down the paperback books at the time (although it has been updated and re-released).

Casket of Feys brings me back to those days of my gaming history, and the price is certainly right. With a little work, the magic items and weapons can convert easily to the OSR ruleset of your choice.

Come and open the Casket of Fays!

This first issue of the Dragon Warriors Fanzine, 'Casket of Fays' is brought to you by Red Ruin Publishing.

Inside the Casket this issue you will find these treasures:

Fearsome mere-trolls and the even worse mere-hags

A visit to the balmy Thousand Islands

A new Sorceror spell

A pointedly nasty magical item

Back to the Thousand Islands, for a more pointed look (that's weapons..)

Enjoy Chaubrette, and enter the Barony of Severac

Meet a great hero of the Mercanian sagas

The first part of a new Profession - the Light Elementalist

Is it serpent, or is it cat - no, its the Tatzelwurm

Gareth Skarka gives a Big F-You to his Far West Backers

Ah, Gareth. To know you is to seriously dislike you. Far West funded just over 9 years ago. 9 fucking years. In 4 short months, Far West will be 9 years late. No update in over a year. A forum that you can't register on. You make Conman Ken look like a Far West preacher.

So, what do we get to celebrate the ninth anniversary of the funding of Far West? A new scheme from Garth. Details are light, but I took some screenshots of the gif Gareth Shared on Facebook.

Make of it what you will, but its certainly a "Fuck You!" to backers of the Far West Kickstarter. BTW, Gareth, if you are still looking to "punch me in the throat", aim for the left side. That carotid artery is completely occluded. You might actually do me a favor ;)

Humble RPG Book Bundle: Old School Revival Dragons, Dungeons, & Mazes

Wow. Normally I don't put up two posts in a day these days, let alone two posts in an hour, both Humble Bundle posts at that. But this bundle just went live and its too good to delay in sharing.

Humble RPG Book Bundle: Old School Revival Dragons, Dungeons, & Mazes has some amazing books for fans of Old School Gaming.

The highlights at a buck are Castles & Crusades Players Handbook, Demonspore, and The Borderlands. There's a whole lot more too :)

The picks at 8 bucks are Lost City of Barakus (an excellent smallish megadungeon for levels 1 thru 6 or so), Cults of the Sundered Kingdom, and the Northlands Saga Complete. And SO much more.

At 15 bucks you get: Barrowmaze Complete (if you don't have this yet, you need it!), Bards Gate (a city sourcebook / adventure and a thing of beauty), Whisper & Venom, and enough gaming material to last a lifetime.

Wow.

Simply wow.

I have 90% of this bundle and I'm in at 15 bucks :)

Humble Bundle -The Boys versus Project Superpowers

If I've learned anything from my recent hospital stays its that digital comic books look amazing on a tablet and are a great way to pass the time. Strangely enough, all of my digital comics have been acquired via various Humble Bundle offerings. The price is just too good to pass up.

The latest Humble Bundle Comics Bundle is The Boys vs Project Superpowers. Yes, the same The Boys as seen on Amazon. Yep, I'm all in :)

Deal of the Day - Dark Fantasy Basic - Player's Guide (OSR)

I like a certain amount of "dark" in my fantasy settings. I think it adds a certain depth to settings.

I think the Dark Fantasy Basic - Player's Guide will add some options for my next Swords & Wizardry campaign. At 1.60 is (normally 4.99) it's hard to pass up.

Dark Fantasy Basic is an old school roleplaying game (or adventure game) that pays homage to a beloved 80's game - which is stilll, for many fans, one of the most concise, clear and well-written RPGs ever published.

This book uses the same system as the world’s most popular RPGs – six abilities, classes, levels, etc. – and it is meant to be compatible with games from that era. Or any OSR game, really. It also has some modern influences, including all of the OSR and the most recent version of this game.

This is a complete game (from the player's side), with five classes (fighter, cleric, thief, magic-user and hopeless), skills, feats, weapons, etc. There are no races - all PCs are human or similar - but there are notes on how to create races for your games. There are 20 different spells but each one is flexible, meaning you can choose the spell level and some of the effects as you cast them.

The book ends with conversion notes for other OSR games. No matter what your favorite system is, we hope you find something useful for your games here!

Humble Bundle - Humble Fantasy 3D Printable Models Bundle

I really need to invest in a 3d printer. The models you can purchase are simply great, and it might be a neat hobby for pandemic time :)

The Humble Fantasy 3d Printer Models Bundle can be bought in for as little as a buck. I see dwarf and tavern themed pieces.

Yeah, I really need a 3d printer...
