Wayward Kickstarter - The Life & Times of Ken Whitless, Living "Day by Day" on a Cruise - The Horrors! - Knights of the Dinner Table: Live Action Series

Wow.

Simply wow.

Move over Gareth. There is no room in the inn Wandering Wizard. Even Brave Little Halflings are overshadowed by the man, the myth, the Mr. Whitman himself - otherwise known as simply "Ken".

I'm only going to share one of the damning Facebook conversation images here. Go to the Knights of the Dinner Table: Live Action Series comments section for others.

Yes, Whitless is a piece of shit...

  1. Explains a lot that he doesnt seem to get why the guy is angry.

  2. Try doing groceries when on a cruise boat, they even haven't got a walmart there?

  3. Technically it's true that you can't buy food on a cruise. Since you already paid for all your meals in advance it's a moot and misleading point.
But really, what a piece of work this guy is.

  5. But what did I do?? I don't understand!

  6. It's worth noting that Ken also scrubbed the entire conversation off of the KoDT LAS Facebook page. Kudos to whoever screencapped it.

  7. The best part of this is, like Candyman, speaking Ken's name sometimes causes him to appear, offering apologies, excuses, innocent looks and counter-accusations. Microwave popcorn ready...

    1. Ken won't appear here. He can't control the conversation at The Tavern.

That goes for others that have been called out, such as Stacy and her recent comments. It's dangerous to have open conversations that you can't control or edit or block folks from.

    2. Where were all of Stacy's comments...I could never find them. I've been looking for a reason to dump her from my G+ circles.

  10. Erik,
I wish I could spill the beans on even half of the stuff I learned this last week, but I'm not a primary source and so you have to take EVERYTHING I say as a bold-faced lie (I'm a devil's advocate type of guy in this regard).
Everything we've been seeing this last week is the tip of the crazy and everybody who got anything so far from Ken should count themselves lucky. Everyone else needs to file an FCC complaint and reach out to their state's Attorney General. I am convinced that *a)* Ken is delusional, with strong narcissistic and possibly sociopathic tendencies and *b)* Ken never intended to fulfill any Kickstarter obligations and has only done so when it was conducive to asking for more money.

    1. Well, the man has "death threats" against him, who has time for Kickstarter fufillment? A cruise ship is the best place to hide from those anonymous dealers of doom, I hear.

    2. I foresee another KW fundraiser in the works... a KickStarter to pay for bodyguards. Or would that be a GoFundMe? LOL (Sigh...)

    3. More like a Patreon to support his performance art piece as a professional geek flake and grifter.

  11. I particularly enjoy this recent comment by Ken: "Be careful of [what] you read. If people don't want to put down who they are, if they won't tell you their names, then it's probably made up. Believe credible people with credible names." Does he really believe he has a "credible name" at this point?

It might be the one his mother gave him, but it sure isn't "credible".

  12. In the last 24 hours, this has hit another milestone of lunacy on the KoDT kickstarter comments page. Pop the corn, grab the drink, give it a read, folks: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/d20e/kodt-live-action-series/comments

    1. And this great story on Jolly's FB page:

Jolly: And yeah, those "25 books" are a bit of a sore point with us. He did send them as a 'gift' after jerking my wife around for seven months on her payment, trashing her behind her back and lying about the check being mailed.

There's one aspect of this story of my wife being owed money I've never disclosed. Back in October of last year one of the actors contacted Barb to ask her when KenzerCo was going to pay Ken so he could in turn pay her. We were dumbfounded. This was Ken's project. HE received all the funding. No money moved from us to Ken - EVER.

Turns out Ken through KenzerCo under the bus claiming he couldn't pay people because Kenzer hadn't paid him.

That sent off alarm bells. Who else had he told this to? So we contacted everyone involved with KODTLAS and found out at least six other people had been told the same thing.

We were livid. And THAT was the first piece of real drama with Ken we ran into. He' s never apologized to this day for that. Instead he was angry at the actor for 'stirring up trouble' and then at Barb for contacting the others to inform them Ken had lied.

Let's just say Ken's "gift" of those books 8 to 9 months later was too little too late. We were told ALL books had shipped to backers at at the same time. Something that turned out to not be true.

Had we known the truth - we would have made sure those books went into the hands of backers.

  13. The grocery/cruise thing pales in comparison to the other bullshit I've been reading. Did any KotDT episodes get released? Were any showed at Gen Con?
