My first choice would be a reprint of both the Moldvay Basic and the Cook/Marsh Expert. I'd also like to see reprints of OD&D (in any format) and the Rules Cyclopedia.
Unearthed Arcana is my personal favorite. There was this feeling when carrying it around that felt so great. Sitting down and reading its pages was something I enjoyed a lot.
If I have to add to the list I'd put the Fiend Folio and Deities and Demigods.
More of a content over rules kinda of person myself.
I'd say Rules Cyclopedia and the GAZ series. As for B1-9, you don't mean the compilation, which isn't as good as the modules, do you? But if B1-9, why not the masterpiece (and near impossible to find on the second hand market) that is B10, Night's Dark Terror?
A new AD&D screen would be nice. (For that matter, so would screens for 0E and B/X, which never got them.) Beyond that, I'd like to see 1E Oriental Adventures, Dungeoneer's Survival Guide, and Wilderness Survival Guide. (Perverse, I know, but I've always liked the proficiencies system.) The Rules Cyclopedia would certainly be welcome as well, though not as much of a priority for me.
Came back from lunch thinking about the Oriental Adventures. Glad to see Jeff just mentioned that one. It's a game a played little, but enjoyed a lot. I think it's a game I would enjoy a lot more today.
I think that it is safe to say that a rich back catalog would be of great interest to a lot of gamers. Not only do these items have a lot of nostalgia value, but they were developed to help introduce people to the hobby and would still fill that (under-developed) niche today.

My first choice would be a reprint of both the Moldvay Basic and the Cook/Marsh Expert. I'd also like to see reprints of OD&D (in any format) and the Rules Cyclopedia.
ReplyDeleterules cyclopedia was an oversight on my part for sure - to late to edit the poll, but i suspect it will pop up often in the comments here ;)
ReplyDeleteRules Cyclopedia. Can I put this in the comments like 20,000 more times?
ReplyDeleteUnearthed Arcana is my personal favorite. There was this feeling when carrying it around that felt so great. Sitting down and reading its pages was something I enjoyed a lot.
ReplyDeleteIf I have to add to the list I'd put the Fiend Folio and Deities and Demigods.
ReplyDeleteBECMI-compilation (not RC, just all the sets' booklets), GAZ-series compilation and PC-series compilation.
ReplyDeleteThe Rules Cyclopedia and Dragonlance: Fifth Age; I mentioned the latter once before on one of these polls, and I was only half joking.
ReplyDeleteD&D Rules Cyclopedia please! It's all I care for.
ReplyDeleteA new AD&D screen would be nice. (For that matter, so would screens for 0E and B/X, which never got them.) Beyond that, I'd like to see 1E Oriental Adventures, Dungeoneer's Survival Guide, and Wilderness Survival Guide. (Perverse, I know, but I've always liked the proficiencies system.) ReplyDeleteCame back from lunch thinking about the Oriental Adventures. Glad to see Jeff just mentioned that one. It's a game a played little, but enjoyed a lot. I think it's a game I would enjoy a lot more today.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see Gamma World, Boot Hill, Star Frontiers(?) and whatever the secret agent one was.
ReplyDelete@DaveL - Top Secret
ReplyDeleteI would like to see a literal compilation of the B modules, not the B1-9 that they did.
ReplyDeleteStar Frontiers, dungeon land / land beyond the magic mirror, castle greyhawk, greyhawk gazetteer, AD&D MMII, bound elminsters ecologies...
ReplyDeleteI think that it is safe to say that a rich back catalog would be of great interest to a lot of gamers. Not only do these items have a lot of nostalgia value, but they were developed to help introduce people to the hobby and would still fill that (under-developed) niche today.
ReplyDeleteRules Cyclopedia!!
ReplyDeleteBeyond that? I don't know that I'd be interested in anything else.
How could you leave the Rules Cyclopedia off the poll, dude?
ReplyDeleteI am somewhere between amused and distressed that everything on the list that I want, I have.
ReplyDeleteHowever, of the things I suspect they could do well with, the GAZ series certainly heads the list (that it isn't on...)
B1-B9 (as opposed to B1-9) would be good to see also, of only for nostalgia sake, and the X series. Companion and Master don't grab me so much.
Also, GDQ only had six modules, I thought (G1-3, D1-2, Q1)
And what about I6 Ravenloft?
I have the D1-2 Combo and D3 Vault of the Drow.
ReplyDeleteGod I am such a geek ;)
ah, that's what got me then -- two volumes. I don't know that I ever saw 'D1 and D2', rather than 'D1+2'.
ReplyDeleteRules Cyclopedia and all 3 Basic Sets collected in a hardcover called Basic Sets :)
ReplyDelete
