Wherefore Art Thou Buckaroo Banzai the RPG?

Before there was the fiasco know as Far West, Adament Entertainment (Gareth Sharka) grabbed the RPG license for Buckaroo Banzai.

What were the excuses for the preorders getting fucked on this one? Con Crud? Flaky artist? Incompetent publisher? Do tell...

Tip of the hat to one of The Taverners for sharing the above pics in The Tavern's Facebook Community.

Now, to be fair, this was due AFTER the Far West Kickstarter, even though it started shaking down marks prior to the Far West fiasco.

Anyone have an estimate of how much Kickstarter / Preorder monies this "Icon of the Gaming Community" bilked folks out of?

  1. Sorry, but "wherefore" means "why" not "where". As in, Why are you Romeo, and not someone who is not my father's enemy?

    O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?
    Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
    Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love
    And I'll no longer be a Capulet.

    1. As an English major sitting at this very moment in a night class, I heartily applaud your pedantry.

    2. From one English major to another, sometimes pedantry is required.

  3. On-going lawsuits regarding the Buckaroo Banzai TV series have not helped matters.

  4. I'm sure the lawsuits will be Gareth M. Skarka's go-to excuse of choice...meanwhile, of Far West there is -still- no sign. But he still finds the time to be massively active on Twitter despite his many personal crises. I don't think he set out to con his backers, but I do think he lost interest in the project and owes them the truth (and a refund) if that's the case.
