Kickstarter - There's a Spinward Traveller Clip for All to See!

When you realize the time spent on this project can only hurt your career... or is it just gas?
Yep. Ken has released a clip from Spinward Traveller.

You know you want to, but first look at the following screen cap and tell me what's wrong.

Did someone say "why the fuck is that alien thing casting a shadow in a different direction than the cast and the surrounding environment?" Ding ding ding! We have a winner. Ken will probably say it science fiction and casting strange shadow is one of it's abilities...

Alright. You need to follow the link to KS in order to view the clip, but you don't need to be a backer.

Please, leave your comments here after the "bleep!"

  1. Nice...
The audio is sub-par (my in-built PC mic has better recording capabilities...); FX suck; and all this can be fixed in editing ('cause this clip is unedited, RIGHT??).
But the acting is... uhm. Or maybe I'm just biased.

  2. People paid money for that? That is embarrassingly bad. If it were just a fan film on YouTube it would be one thing but that? That is just really bad and I feel sorry for the cast members involved with it. That is the sort of thing that people use pseudonyms for.

  3. Looks awful. A sci-fi TV pilot on the cheap was always a bad idea, especially when using a community theatre as the cast.

The KoDT series was good. He should finish that

  4. The camera work leaves a lot to be desired. It's at the level of a porno—nobody can hold the damn thing steady.

  5. Based on the award winning RPG (Traveller), huh?

"grab the handle, the computer will do the rest!" in regard to firing a ship's weapon?

What the hell have I been taking those skills for all these years????

    1. Just imagine, the next generation of computers will be able to grab their own handles. You heard it here first.

  6. I await Joel (or Mike) and the 'bots to view this movie properly.

  8. It's alright. Until things like Star Trek Continues and Axanar moved the goalposts you'd say it was a decent enough fan film.

  9. funny. They are running on grass but the sound effects make it sound like they are running on crushed stone.
