Why not come up with one game and have 3 sets of rules: 1e-like for the grognards, 3e-like for the rules monsters, and 4e-like for the MMORPGers. Problem solved. Oh wait, these already exist with systems like LL, ACK, Pathfinder, and a myriad of others. And WoW for the the folks that truly want to play a video game (I guess you can see what I think of 4e).

With all that I've read, it just seems to me that WotC is putting out a gaming system that will give you the tools to create your own homebrew RPG.bujhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12514568441249139233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1724254580047847936.post-59247345987501106222012-04-01T08:42:33.878-04:002012-04-01T08:42:33.878-04:00Agree, I hoping for the best but preparing for the...Agree, I hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

They aren't gong to attract the OSR unless it's gygaxian D&D, and Monte just won't go there. That's bad news to me. What, a combat that only takes a couple rounds, even against a "solo" creature, is not possibly satisfying? Like you said Tenk, why can't clever characters take joy in overcoming foes quickly? These guys are assuming they know what all players want.Drancehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04312134763577949405noreply@blogger.com
