I Plan on Doing a Bunch of 5 Minute Audio Interviews at Gary Con X

I picked up a Zoom ZH1 H1 Handy Portable Digital Recorder with the intention of seeking out members of the OSR Community (known and less known) for a series of 5 minute interviews. Now, it sounds really good in theory but 5 minutes can be really long of the conversation doesn't flow.

That's where you, The Tavern's Readers, come in. I need some general questions I can refer to get the interviews flowing. Add your questions to the comments below. Tuesday night around 9 PM Eastern I'll pick two random commenters. They'll each receive a $5 RPGNow Gift Certificate.

I'll print out the list of questions and bring it with my to Gary Con.

When I return back to New York it may go up as a special episode of the Hero's Brew podcast.

What are you waiting for? ;)

  3. Of course, I'm not part of the OSR community... I'm just playing this silly game the way I have been for the last 45 years...

    1. Mike, if you have more than 5 minutes in you I certainly wouldn't stop you. I doubt I could keep Bill Webb to 5 minutes ;)

  4. You could have a great 5 minute discussion on how somebody is growing and promoting the hobby.

  5. Help promote GaryCon and other old school cons as well by asking people to share what they like about attending. Hit up some of the first time attendees and creators as well...film a few games for 5 mins by GMs everyone likes (with permission)...I am going for the 7th time and I would totally watch that.

  6. I blew a chunk of my tax return on the H6 to do my podcast in, then the intermittent cold I've had all winter got bad again and I can't record... so thats awesome.

  8. Are they any rules/practices from newer games you incorporate into your OSR game sessions?
How do you incorporate an OSR mentality when you play newer rules sets?
What gaming podcasts do you enjoy?
What gaming blogs/websites do you like?
How do you keep OSR gaming fresh after all these years?
Do you prefer crunchier or more rules lite in tour OSR rules set and why?
When you prep for game sessions as a GM, how much do you leave to improvisation during the session? Is improvisation in GMing equivalent to continuously fudging? Is that a good/bad thing?
