I almost missed this email from yesterday, so I'm going to be quick (BTW, the link in the email does NOT go directly to the Trolls sale at RPGNow - no idea why)
Most of the sale prices are... pretty crappy, especially if you snagged anything from the Trolls 99 cent print and PDF sales from last week. There are, however, three bargains one should not pass up on, regardless of system of preference.
Tomb of the Unclean - $1.99 - A nice selection of demons and devils. It looks like the project will never complete (as it hasn't updated in six months or so) but for $1.99 it's worth what's there and if there is more coming? even better.
Lost City of Gaxmoor - $1.99 - A 120 page adventure to take your party from newbs to level 10. See the names on the tin?
Town of Kalas - $1.99 - 80 page urban sandbox. Well worth the money, it's a bargain and a half.
edit:
Free City of Eskadia - $1.99 - 130+ page urban sandbox. grab it!
Thanks for the advise on what to look at. I was looking to get Gaxmoor for sure and missed it last night lol. Other choices are ioteresting so, buying them too lol
ReplyDeleteI regret not catching the Trolls email earlier. It was a hunt and a half to find the true gems in this sale.
DeleteThanks for the heads up. Purchased!
ReplyDeleteI own the original Gaxmoor but should order this. Of course, I want this version in print too (was unable to back the KS).
ReplyDeleteI own the Town of Kalas & Eskadia books and recommend both. I have an Eskadia campaign going on now (paused due to the birth of our daughter a week after our last session). Kalas is slated to be used in the same campaign. (I inserted The Haunted Highlands setting to the western side of Oerik in The World of Greyhawk.) The campaign is my oldest son & his uncle playing thieves trying to restore the old thieves guild to a position of power in the Free City. Casey Christofferson writes great stuff.
The Tomb of the Unclean is something I don't own but should. So I'm going to order that one too. Thanks, Erik!
(I get TLG emails but last night we were getting our taxes done. Yay...)
I'm not sure how long the sale lasts for:
DeleteFor the next 24 hours, you can save up to 80% on most of our adventures.
Tons to choose from!
24 HOURS ONLY -- ACT FAST
(that was received about 1015 AM yesterday)
I'm hoping it lasts long enough for me to order at lunch (27 minutes from now). ☺
DeleteTimer is clicking on RPGNow.com's sales page. There is quite a bit of time left to get in on this.
ReplyDeleteCurrent timer: "This sale ends in 20 hours, 53 minutes, and 59 seconds."
Bought all four of the above, and a few others as well. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteUnusually good price point for Gaxmoor and Eskadia, which are both long and detailed sourcebooks. And Gaxmoor seems to have cut down on the usual TLG proofreading glitches. Maybe they finally hired an outside editor?
