Open Letter to Ken Whitman from Jolly Blackburn

Jolly asked me to share this here at The Tavern as we KNOW Ken visits, reads and comments on this side.

Ken, just so you know, Jolly has shown me some of the chat logs between you and Jolly and you and Barb. I know what's in them. I've seen your words which contradict much of what you've been saying recently. Just do the right thing and put this drama to an end. Stop holding the various projects hostage in the hopes of milking them for yet more money.

  1. Just to clarify. My open letter to Ken is actually in response to an email he made to me in November in which he offered a similar deal. Basically, "shut up and I'll give Ben the footage".

He never followed through on that offer so I'm basically pitching the offer back to him. And if he can't produce the raw footage, simply asking that he tell us why.

  2. I am not part of Ken Whitman's Kickstarter and I'm not really even a fan of KODT, but I understand the feelings of many who are. I recently had to deal with the dT&T Kickstarter being late and the anger of some fans out there who thought we weren't doing a good job getting it finished. Its done and we've shipped everything but we were two years late, so I understand that anger and worry from the fans as to if it would ever get done. Sometimes you can get in over your head. Maybe that's what happened with Ken Whitman. But this offer from Jolly is a way to turn the page.

This is your chance Mr. Whitman, make good and try to salvage your reputation "with one good deed in a weary world." As Willy Wonka once said to a boy who gave back the everlasting gobstopper he was given.

Just do the right thing - Prove your worst critics wrong. Make good on your promise. Just give them what footage you have and let them take it from there. At least you film will be seen that way.
    Good luck all!

    1. It would be nice if he listened to this kind of advice. I said something similar to him after months ago when he promised via written agreement to pay the $1600 he owes me for the Spinward CGI I created..but alas he chose to completely ignore..as if ignoring paying me wont have consequences. I had his latest Spinward "pitch to the networks" BS video ripped off of kickstarter for copyright infringement of my work and have added the screenshots and proof of that incident to my legal case against him. He has made his choice not to pay me, and he has no idea the case im building against him. Each time he uses my work in another bullshit video he creates, it adds to the amount in damages to my business. Hes in for a rude awakening once I slap him with my lawsuit. You hear that Ken? Keep using my work you did not pay for, you're literally digging yourself into a deeper hole.

    2. And yes Ken you can sue someone who claims to have no money...its called asset repossesion. You have no idea what the amount in damages is now... I hope you like surprises.

    4. Oh and good on you for having that nonsense pulled down.

    5. Thanks Jolly and likewise. Im actually enjoying watching him continuously make the absolute worst possible decisions in his slow, pathetic self destruction. I just feel bad for anyone who has to call him "dad," but I have no sympathy for him.

  3. Please, just redeem yourself and start with a relatively clean slate, Ken. We wanna see the episodes that you so wonderfully cast. Stop this self-destructive cycle you have found yourself in. Life happens. We get that. Turn over the raw footage and kindly walk away.

    Yours truly,

    Johnny Repine.

  5. I'm surprised that David Kenzer (being a lawyer) isn't suing the crap out of this guy.

  6. Mike,
as someone who's been on the receiving end of a bad deal from a bad person (I had to sue a guy, here, 'cause he didn't mean to pay for products we delivered...) I guess mr. Kenzer realized it's not worth suing someone so elusive (changes name, changes state, at the drop of a hat...).
It took me the better part of five years to get my money, and even then, just because the guy - being the arrogant pr*ck he is - assumed he could get away with something - that something, luckily for me, is considered a criminal offense, so he agreed to pay on condition that we didn't press charges for that.
