White Star Regains #1 Spot at RPGNow - Talk About Long (Virtual) Shelf Life

+James Spahn 's White Star RPG has crawled back to the #1 Hottest Title over at RPGNow. It's been unseated a handful of times but always seems to reagins the spot. Green Ronin's Fantasy Age (I want to call this a generic fantasy version of Dragon Age, but I suspect that is a simplification) is the most recent title to bump White Star, only to lose the #1 position to the very product it bumped.

Which reminds me. I need to do some more White Star content.

Another product with long life on the hottest sellers list is the Creature Compendium by +Richard LeBlanc , which has been hanging on since early April.

Yeah, I like to point out the OSR picks ;)

Next up - some not to be missed RPG Kickstarters (see, I can do positive Kickstarter posts )

  1. Fingers crossed that New Class Options can continue to hover in the 20s and low 30s. Congrats to James for continuing to dominate.

  2. I'm completely shocked that White Star stays #1. I may cave and get it just to see what's up, but concede that I'm too finicky in my SF tastes to probably be able to use it....although if anyone can tell me if WS does serious hard SF well let me know, it may change my mind.

    1. Nicholas, as much as I hate to say it - White Star is definitely more pulp sci-fi than hard sci-fi. More Flash Gordon, Star Wars, Buck Rogers and that ilk. If you're looking for hard sci-fi, White Star CAN do it, but I don't think it's particularly suited to it.

  3. I'm personally blown away (and continually humbled) by the fact that the d30 Sandbox Companion has been out for over a year and a half, still hovers around the 30s (it was at #31 when I just checked).

Also, I don't imagine it will be long before White Star goes Platinum. It passed the Sandbox Companion a few weeks ago as the #1 gold product at RPGNow, and is pushing the back end of Platinum: http://www.rpgnow.com/metal.php
