The Tavern Chat Podcast - E138 - Four Wayward Kickstarters, See How They Run - Or Not

Ah, Wayward Kickstarters. If I didn't mock them, I might cry. And yes, I backed all four of these.
I've been meaning to so this episode for a couple of days now. I guess I was kinda busy ;) I talk about the following Kickstarters: Yarr! The Pirate ArrPG Hardcover : Make 100 Edition, Far West: Western/Wuxia Mashup adventure game, Artisan Dice Does Handcrafted Polyhedrals, and Appendix N Adventure Toolkits (DCC RPG Modules).

  1. Thanks for this one. Effing Artisan's Dice. Fucker owes me nearly $500.

Anyway, I have a couple other late ones, but they are at least still actively updating, and I think that's a REASONABLE request if you are still trying to finish the KS. I think that's key. If you're late. Even REALLY late, at least keep good faith.

  2. Did Artisan's Dice produce anything for KS backers?

    1. If they did, it didn't include mine.
For what it's worth, you did a great job on yours that I backed. Thanks for that :)

  3. I would actually buy a set of Artisan dice. Or rather I WOULD have...
Although the problem is pretty obvious. Right on their web site it says it takes 6-12 weeks to make a set of dice. They have 1174 backers. That means it will take them about 200 YEARS to make all their backer dice. Probably time to hire another couple craftsmen.

  4. I received my Artisan Dice from a Kickstarter before the one in question. I got a set of 4 d6s made out of some kind of rare wood I don’t really appreciate. I guess I’m glad I stopped while I was ahead.

    1. As someone that burned on this one, I had heard from people from that FIRST kickstarter you're referring to. I was reassured since the first one went well. FWIW, I'm happy for you that the first KS went well for you. Cheer. Happy gaming.
