There's a Small Change with the EN World Logo - Less EN World - More Morrus

So, I noticed a little something when I went to ENWorld this morning. Yep, the logo changed. Not sure how recently but the Wayback Machine had the old logo in March of this year.

Whereas before it was EN World RPG News & Reviews now it is Morrus' Unofficial EN World Tabletop RPG News. Actually, I'm not sure where "EN World" goes in this - maybe you read it at the end?

So, the news is now "unofficial", reviews are no longer stressed and Morrus has priority over "ENWorld" itself. I find it interesting that the name of the site itself is de-emphasized.

What does all this mean? Haven't a bloody clue ;)

  1. Probably an attempt to get his name out there a bit more considering he (as EN World Publishing) is creating a lot more content. By making it "Morrus' Unnofficial..." it gets to be slightly separated in branding from EN Publishing...but that's still weird because of the domain.

I dunno, I kinda get how hard it is to separate brands and keep your name out there. I started everything I was doing as "neuronphaser" because that was my internet handle and blog site name/domain. But now my name is getting bigger and bigger as I publish 5E and OSR adventures, and there's a disconnect with who/what "neuronphaser" is and why "Tim Bannock" doesn't have his own personal website with that in the name.

This is a huge deal to all 15 fans I have, ya know? ;-)

    1. I do think this version implies the connection a little more clearly.

  3. Yes but what I want to know is: What is Eric Noah up to these days? I miss that guy.

  4. I think it makes sense if Eric Noah is not involved with site anymore emphasize who actually runs it is a good move. If Morrus bought the tavern I would want him to put it up.

  5. He didn't have room to squeeze "Shit Show" in there somewhere?

  6. Not really a part of this, but the Sean Patrick Fannon posts wherein he fluffs his buddies for affiliate links are gone. I tried looking for the infamous “stalwart” post and it has been deleted. This isn’t related to SPF’s recent bruhaha since his other posts are still there.

  7. The affiliate link posts were Sean's bread and butter. For them to be gone makes me think they most certainly ARE related to the recent incident.

    1. They are. He discontinued that 'column' of his own volition, ahead of the article about the sexual harassment claims being posted.
