Back From NTRPG Con - Boy, am I Tired ;)

Lets see. Not only did the TSA in Dallas - Fort Worth feel a need to pat me down, they also swabbed my fingers. Rach also got patted down (hair only) and had to show her fingers - no swabbing? Is NTRPG Con flagged for extra attention? Bad Mike, what's the secret?

That being said, the flight arrived at Laguardia 30 minutes early. Can I get an amen? (we heard lots of "Amens!" during the revival services happening right next to Merle Rausmussen's Espionage session yesterday)

I literally have way too many people to thank individually. I'm afraid to even try.

To everyone that took the time out of their gaming schedule to say "hi!" not only to me, but my wife Rach (and yes, they knew her name - it made her feel very special and probably proves they read The Tavern with some frequency) I say "thank you". Some of you made me blush, some of you shared selfies with me, some of you took selfies of me. Some of you gamed with Rach and I, some of you gamemastered for Rach and I. Some gave me gifts of gaming material, one made me a gift to store my gaming material and one gave me a gift of a selfie stick. Many of us shared meals, drinks, stories.

All gave of themselves to go to NTRPG Con and to be part of one of the most amazing communities in the OSR if not RPGs.

I'll be doing a series of posts about the gaming sessions, the con in general, acquisitions and reviews. More importantly, I'm asking you, my fellow NTRPG Con attendees, guests, hosts, sponsors - if you have a story to tell about the con or gaming in general and you don't know how or where to share it, share it here at The Tavern. Email me at trublunite at that gmail thing or contact me using the Blogger contact form on the right side of this page. Just because NTRPG is over until next year doesn't mean the stories need to stop flowing :)

edit - Jonathan, Rach simply loves this shot. You done well :)

  2. I've always wondered about being swabbed for explosive residue near holidays or the summer, Eveery now and then I happen to enjoy setting off fireworks when having fun (where legal) and I know lots of people in my area do..donkt they get a lot of positives that donkt mean a thing?

  3. It was fantastic hanging out and gaming with you two again. Plus the general BSing and beers and all-around good-fun times.

    1. you good luck charm you. I had to abandon 4 pairs of underwear, one tank top, a belt and a Honeymooners board game to get Rach's raffle winnings home...

    2. Oh geez. Well, I was able to get everything crammed in, but my carry-on was denser than plutonium. The Friendly TSA Folks couldn't x-ray it, so I got to open up my suitcase there at the airport and show off my numerous pairs of dirty underwear and socks. Then I got to try to cram it all back in.

    3. Abandon? They could have been in the Midnight Auction next year, dammit. As a matter of fact, due to the magic of Satan, they still MIGHT be in the auction next year :)

  4. I had to leave on Friday (son was graduating this weekend) so I didn't get time to catch up with you Erik -- hopefully next year!

  5. That *is* a great picture!

We, too, got nabbed by the TSA on our way out. The agent was a bit daunted by the amount of gaming materials in my bag, so she blinked and contented herself with a perimeter swab. :)
